Dr. John Chewning, DO, is a Board-Certified Family Practice Physician and Owner of Blacksheep Medical Family Practice in Ormond Beach, Florida, serving the community since 2013. Specializing in patient-centered care, Dr. Chewning enhances the health and well-being of families with his extensive expertise. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Memorial Hospital, Peninsula (2009-2012) and earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from Nova Southeastern University (1999). With degrees in Biology and Liberal Arts from Rollins College, he brings a well-rounded approach to medicine.
A former Army Physician at Lyster Army Health Clinic, Dr. Chewning has also served as Medical Director for Coastal Health, Gentiva Hospice, and Hospice Care Memorial. He is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Central Florida. Recognized with the Outstanding House Staff Award (2002) and an Eagle Scout (1990), Dr. Chewning is a trusted leader in Florida healthcare, dedicated to quality care and patient education
